A little bit about the Maker

Im Hazel, a Mum, Wife, Business owner, daughter, sister, friend, and pottery obsessed woman living on our lifestyle block in Dunedin. Life here is full and a bit chaotic in the best way. Three busy kids, one mad dog, two strange cats, and more chicken sheep and ducks than I care to count, and a very patient husband who has accepted he's lost his garage to clay and comes to see every kiln empty and pretends to be interested!!

I started making ceramics a couple of years ago when I decided the kids were old enough for mum to have a 'hobby'. I had no idea that one class would completely hook me. Since then, I have worked through hundreds of kilos of clay - learning, experiencing, and falling more in love with the process every day. What started with a rusty old kick wheel off marketplace has grown into something much bigger!!

I am so incredibly grateful to the amazing cafes, bakeries, and stores that stock my work and to every single person who has supported me by purchasing a piece of Saddle Hill or simply following along.
